Lydden Hill - 21-22 June 2014

Now a firm highlight of the racing calendar for everyone who's experienced it, the annual Lydden Hill "Truck Festival" once more didn't disappoint. Glorious sunshine welcomed visitors to the Kent circuit that's now sadly under-used as a race venue, and all enjoyed a varied programme that again brought back some of the atmosphere of the Promotasport "Festival of Speed" events that once packed Lydden out. Now the Oval Racing content is ably handled by the Rolling Thunder Show team who again imported the  colourful CAMSO V8 European Late Models for their only UK appearance of the year, alongside a good turnout of Sprint Cars, strong fields for the various RTS Hot Rod classes, a select handful of SEGTO racers and the cheap and cheerful Street Stox, making their Lydden debut. On the full circuit we saw the BARC South Eastern Centre's four varied saloon and sports car series, while the truck racing presence, although slightly diluted from previous years, was again highly spectacular.
